“Neetu Singh keeps the action to a minimum in order to foreground the women’s stories, and Ravneet Kaur’s choreography has the unforced, spontaneous look of women dancing for themselves and each other rather than for a theatre audience.”

The Valley of Queens is a verbatim new writing play that follows the heartfelt experiences of elder migrant women, capturing their laughter, songs, and memories from the 60s, 70s, and 80s.

The production is built from The Happy Hour Project, a 12-week creative initiative produced by Curl Girl and commissioned by Creative Black Country under the Arts Council England’s Creative People and Places National Portfolio programme.
